PANORAMA PRIMARY SCHOOL

More About Us

Learners:
Panorama Primary School has a total of 1571  students; 1399 in the mainstream, and 172 in Grade R. We have recently opened a Grade RR class (Kleine Valkies), currently available in Afrikaans only, as an additional service to the community.

Value-driven school:
At Panorama Primary School, students come from various cultures, races, and religions. We take pride in being a multicultural school with a parallel medium of instruction. Panorama Primary School is founded on a strong, value-driven ethos. Our values are TRUSTWORTHINESS, RESPECT, LOYALTY, CARING, FAIRNESS, and RESPONSIBILITY.

Staff:
Principal Anton Mostert, with the support of the Governing Body, leads a team of 130 staff members, including educators, specialist educators, assistant teachers, an extra-curricular coordinator, a network system and database administrator, aftercare staff, administrative staff, general workers, and a factotum.

Grades 1 to 4 each have two assistant teachers, Grades 5, 6 and 7 each have one assistant teacher, and Grade R has four assistant teachers. Assistant teachers assist with administrative tasks, small group teaching, and sports coaching.
In addition, we have four staff members specifically designated to teach the physical part of Life Skills, for learners in Grades 1 to 7. Our network, database, and system administrator manages the school’s technical infrastructure, which includes laptops, desktops, interactive smart boards, a managed firewall and 100% coverage of wifi network.

Learning Support Department:
Panorama Primary School has a Learning Support Centre with one Councillor, three remedial teachers, a Didactic (Tutor) Support Team of 16 teachers, a private Occupational Therapist, and a private Speech and Language Specialist.

We have five netball / tennis courts, two cricket fields, three rugby fields, a full-size brand-new hockey astro field, a mini hockey astro field, as well as five cricket nets.

We have a cafeteria, clothing store, and an aftercare centre where approximately 250 learners can be accommodated under the supervision of our expert staff.

Safe learning environment:
The safety of our learners and staff is crucial. There is a security fence around our school with a security guard controlling access to the site at the main gate. To further enhance security on the school premises, we have installed turnstiles at the school, to help us better monitor and control access to the premises during school hours. District Watch’s security guards and Operating Room monitor the facilities 24 hours a day. CCTV cameras monitor every entrance, all corridors as well as strategic places on the playground.

Sport:
We offer a wide range of sports codes and extracurricular activities, overseen by our Sports Coordinator and two assistant Coordinators.

  • Summer sports include cricket, mini-cricket, athletics, tennis and swimming.
  • Winter sports include rugby, hockey and netball.
  • Chess for both juniors and seniors.
  • Tag rugby is also offered for the girls. Professional coaching is offered in different sport codes (also private).
  • Panorama Primary School has a beautiful Sports Centre and Reception Hall.
  • Our teams are conditioned by professional conditioning specialists in our Conditioning Centre, which is fully equipped to support the specific needs of the various sports.

We take great pride in our top-notch facilities, making us one of the most well-equipped schools in the Western Cape, renowned for our high standards. At Panorama Primary School, we are dedicated to providing expert teachers, exceptional facilities, and the best opportunities for every learner.
